Moving On Up

It was a pleasure to attend the annual A-level and T-level results day at Middlesbrough College yesterday. The college recorded its most successful year with its highest proportion of top grades. Happy faces were plentiful as the white envelopes were anxiously opened to reveal scores that took more students than ever before to their first-choice universities.

Being present to capture these cheerful moments provides an added degree of delight for me, and helps to make up for the underwhelming experience of opening my own results many moons ago. Fortunately my eventual career path was unaffected.
Education has moved on a lot since my school days however, and with many more vocational qualifications than ever before, the scope of subject matter and courses to enrol on is vast. I envy the bright and exciting futures many of the class of 2025 have ahead of them as they make their way in the world.
