Chris was very amenable from the start. We booked Chris during lockdown and from our first chat via email to the wedding day Chris delivered everything and more than we expected. We met him once before the big day to look around the venue. He had some ideas but was willing to listen and take on board what we wanted too. We only wanted 20 staged photos and left the rest for Chris to take as he wanted. We ended up with 667 photos telling a story of our wedding day from the beginning to our first dance. I’m a journalist and was recommended to Chris’s work by a colleague who was familiar with his stuff. I actually needed someone to take pictures at our wedding but I wanted a less formal approach and being a journo I also wanted to put work to a fellow ‘news bod’. From the first contact, I knew we had made the right move in getting Chris on board. He was easy to communicate with, knew what we were looking for and after our first meeting with him we knew that he was right for what we wanted. On the day of our wedding he couldn’t do enough for us in terms of making people relaxed for the photos and he certainly captured the essence of our special day. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding than Chris. Despite horrendous weather and difficult lighting conditions Chris has produced a perfect set of photos. Chris shot our Slaley Hall wedding. His professionalism, workrate and dedication were second to none. As a journalist, I work with photographers and Chris is without a doubt one of the best I've met. His eye for a photograph is unmatched. His artistic shots were beautiful, but it was his natural shots perfectly captured everyone's face and the mood of the day, and they made our wedding.
And the biggest compliment I could personally pay to him is that I barely noticed he was there. There was no fussing, but managed to put everyone's minds at ease when he did need to organise group shots. I honestly couldn't be happier with what Chris did. The pictures came back last week and we have not stopped looking at them. Having previously worked with Chris on a professional basis, I already knew just how talented a photographer he was. He was our first and only choice for our wedding. Chris’ photographs really capture the raw emotions, reactions and feelings of the day. Some of my favourite pictures are the reactions of our guests and myself during the speeches  - they are so natural and really do encapsulate the moment. Chris is so professional in his work. He met with us at our venue beforehand and listened to all the things we wanted; he shared his advice and experience with us so we could get the best photographs possible. Many of our guests commented on how polite and professional Chris was; his brilliant sense of humour also added to the exciting ‘getting ready’ atmosphere beforehand and the bridal party loved having him around. Chris was more than happy to take the ‘traditional and formal’ shots we wanted but then took hundreds of natural photos which really do capture the essence of the day.
