A Winter's Tale

There's a misconception that portrait photography involves backgrounds, multiple lights and the very controlled conditions that exist within a studio. This is far from my experience and almost to the contrary: I rarely know what set-up will be needed on a photoshoot until I turn up.
That keeps my working life interesting however, and means I have to have the ability and confidence to think on my feet very fast at times. Photography is a personal endeavour, and composition very much depends on the way in which you see your surroundings. Years of practice has helped develop my creativity and attention to detail, while supporting my knowledge of what does and doesn't work through the lens.
The images above are some of my favourite portraits so far from 2026. As always, a massive thank you to my clients old and new for allowing me to continue doing the job I love.
