Dearly Beloved

I don't tend to spend much time pursuing weddings to cover, and as a percentage of the type of photography that I do, it is relatively small. That said, I always seem to enjoy the occasion and the emotion conveyed on such special days particularly lends itself to the camera.

A week last Friday was no exception when I was invited to attend couple Jane and Steve's marriage ceremony at the Parkmore Hotel near Yarm. An overcast yet warm day was favourable as far as I was concerned, meaning no strong shadows from harsh direct sunlight.

The newly weds grew accustomed to my presence, or that of the camera, and provided some great natural moments for me to capture. Where possible I tend to use a telephoto lens as I feel it is important to try and blend in with the background as much as possible in order to create real, uncontrived instances, and not interfere with proceedings.

I hope that Jane and Steve have a long and happy life together, and that they get enjoyment for years to come from the visual record I had the pleasure of creating from their big day.
