A nice job to cover last week as Darlington Crown Street Library celebrated its 140th anniversary. A packed out Children's Library room was the setting for dignitaries to mark the occasion including a emotive community poem created and read by Caroline Walling. An afternoon tea dance with live harmonised music provided by the Lipsticks was also part of the proceedings to mark this historical occasion. A selection of sweet treats was quite literally the icing on the cake adding to the memory of the day.
