The Tall Ships Races made a return to Hartlepool this weekend for the first time since 2010. The four day event included live entertainment and numerous stalls as the 40 sailed vessels docked in the North East coastal town, a stop-off between Den Helder in the Netherlands and Fredrikstad in Norway.
Showery conditions on Saturday did not dampen spirits as live music and a fireworks display proved highly entertaining. The clouds lifted on Sunday and bright sunshine greeted the thousands who gathered at Hartlepool Headland to watch the mighty ocean cruisers gradually disappear from view on the next leg of their journey.
