What an amazing weekend I've had in terms of published work. From a feature on the saviours of a Spanish art collection in The Yorkshire Post, to an article on Motability in The i Paper and finally coverage of a crucial football match in The League Paper - a hat-trick of sorts!

I met up with Jonathan and Jane Ruffer, founders of The Auckland Project, in January on a rare dry day. They have ploughed millions into the preservation and restoration of Bishop Auckland Palace, retaining the 12 paintings by Francisco de Zurbaran, which have hung in the residence since 1756. As the shoot took place from 3pm, the light was fading fast and the outdoor shots had to be taken quickly. Luckily, the Palace provided a wonderful background both inside and out, so choosing locations was easy. Two studio lights gave an extra helping hand on both flash and continuous light settings.

An unexpected but welcome email from The i Paper provided the source for my second batch of published images. Accompanying a reporter around Teesside, we took to the streets to find content for an article discussing Motability - a scheme that allows people with mobility issues to lease a vehicle. The weather wasn't so kind to us on this occasion, making the photography more tricky, but the individuals we interviewed in Stockton and Redcar were very generous with both their time and opinions.

Finally a first-time trip Highbury Stadium at Fleetwood, Lancashire on Saturday served as the backdrop for the visit of EFL League 2 toppers Bromley to continue their run of success. Despite getting on the wrong side of the local stewards with my seating position, I was fortunate to be in the right place to capture the Greater London team battle back from a goal down to win 2-1.

A satisfying victory for those who had made a return journey of around 600 miles! Although not my team, I too enjoyed Bromley's successful afternoon - it's always more fun to photograph a winning team. It's just a shame that, to the best of my knowledge, the delight of the passionate fan (below) didn't receive recognition.
